Datafilter

DataFilter/CE4CE KPI Selector is a practical digital solution supporting the implementation of circular economy principles in public transport. The tool has been prepared as a user-friendly browser application that enables interactive browsing, filtering, sorting and exporting of tabular data, including KPI sets, indicators, registers and knowledge bases.

In the CE4CE project, the solution can serve as a KPI selector and an interface supporting work with data on circularity. It helps transition from dispersed spreadsheets to a more organized, transparent and operational approach to monitoring changes in public transport. It is particularly useful where strategic objectives must be linked to measurable indicators, target values, data accountability and investment decisions.

The solution supports analysis of areas such as the share of electric and hydrogen transport, energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy utilization, charging infrastructure durability, battery lifecycle, component reuse, operational efficiency and public transport operating costs. It can be used by public transport operators, transport organizers, local governments, research institutions and urban project partners.

DataFilter operates as a single HTML file opened in a browser. It requires no installation, server, database or programming environment. It enables data import from XLSX, XLS, CSV, TSV and JSON files, as well as from a public URL. Users can automatically create filters, change their order, apply full-text search, sort data, customize columns and export results to CSV or PDF files. Data and settings can be saved locally in the browser, making it easy to continue working without reconfiguring the tool each time.

In the context of the CE4CE pilot in Gdynia, the solution supports a data-driven approach in which decisions regarding electrification, route planning, vehicle charging, energy efficiency and infrastructure lifecycle can be analyzed using a shared set of indicators. The tool can complement work carried out using digital twin and energy flow simulation, providing a transparent way to present, select and export KPIs for stakeholders.

The most important advantage of the solution is ease of implementation. The tool can be used locally or shared as a static file on a website. This makes it easy to transfer between organizations and can be adapted to different cities, operators and datasets. It supports decision-making consistent with ESG principles: reducing environmental impact, rational management of public resources, data transparency and cross-sectoral collaboration.
